Abstract

607,323. Ventilators. STEWART, SIR F. C. Jan. 30, 1946, No. 2973. [Class 137] In a ventilator adapted to induce secondary air from the surrounding space to be mixed with incoming or primary air before discharge into the space to be ventilated, so as to adjust the temperature of the primary air to that of said space, a, disc 3 is spaced from the primary air nozzle 1, and one or more inverted truncated conical rings 4 are provided beyond the disc for the passage of secondary air and to form, in conjunction with the surface 1<1>, a diffuser. In the form shown, the disc 3 is adjustably supported on a stem 5 by means of a spring-pressed ball 8 engaging in grooves 5a, and has a resilient pad 3<1> for engagement with the surface 1<1> in the closed position. According to the Provisional Specification, the outlet from the nozzle or the diffuser may be divided into sections.
