Jan. 23, 1933, No. 2187. Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, July 24, 1933]. [Class 38 (v).] In pressureoperated control switch such as may be used in connection with refrigerating apparatus which is arranged to be opened additionally by electrical overload, the over-load-responsive-member being arranged to be returned manually to its working position after cessation of the overload, the movable switch member is provided with an operating projection arranged to be engaged by the resetting- device for maintaining the switch open as long as this device is in the resetting position. As shown the control switch is adapted to be operated by an expansion bellows 16 and rod 15, the upper end of the rod being connected by a dead-centre snap-action spring 17 and link 18 to a contact lever 12 pivoted at 13. In addition the contact lever is adapted to be opened by an electrical overload device consisting of a bimetallic strip 24 provided with a heating coil 25 the lower end of the bimetallic strip normally engaging and holding down a spring-pressed pivoted lever 22. If, however, the strip is unduly heated its lower end flexes and releases the lever 22 which is moved by its spring 23 to engage the contact levers 12 and move it to its " off " position. To reset the lever 22 a projection 28 is rotated by a knob 27 to engage an inclined portion 29 of the lever 22 and, according to the invention, the knob 29 during this resetting movement engages also a spring 30 carried by the lever 12. Thus the switch member 12 is held in its open position independently of the bellows 16 until the lever 22 is reset in the position in which it is re-engaged by the bimetallic strip after the latter has cooled down. Adjustment of the spring 19 bearing on the bellows-operated rod 15 is effected by means of a knob 21. Specification 367,189 is referred to.
