Abstract
418,491. Battery lamps. BATTERIENUND ELEMENTE-FABRIK SYSTEM ZEILER AKT.-GES., 20, Rungestrasse, Berlin. April 3, 1934, Nos. 10135 and 10136. Convention dates, April 3, 1933 and Nov. 1, 1933. [Class 39 (ii).] A cycle lamp is mounted with its battery in a casing of insulating material and formed in two parts 11, 12 screwed together, a spring catch within the casing preventing accidental separation of the parts. In one form the reflector 24, Fig. 1, carrying the lamp 23 and the glass cover 14 are held in place by a ring bearing on metal angle pieces 16 riveted to the casing ; one of these is extended and at its end rolled to form one part 36, Fig. 4, of the spring catch, the other part 35 being formed on the end of a strip connected to the battery ; the catch forms part of the circuit from battery to lamp. Two cells 29 may be used with switch means to allow either or both cells to be in circuit ; the cells are carried in pieces 17, 170 formed in the casing part 12. The screw thread connecting the two parts 11 and 12 may have a quick pitch so that a partial relative rotation of the two parts completes the connection. In a modification, the spring catch is formed by serrating the inner edge 35 of either case part a spring clip 34 on the other part engaging the teeth; the spring clips may also form the connection 200 from the battery to the reflector 24, which in these constructions is screwed into the casing part 11. Only one battery cell is used.
