Abstract
418,192. Swimming and sun-bathing costumes. IRMONE, 38, Rue Montaigne, Paris. June 5, 1934, Nos. 16740 and 16741. Convention dates, June 13, 1933 and April 14, 1934. [Class 77.] To avoid the use of shoulder straps in sunbathing and swimming costumes, the costume is provided at its upper edge 2 with a series of darts 3, and the back of the costume is provided with cross straps 4, 4<1>, to fit round the waist of the wearer. A cord 7 secured to the front part of the costume may, when desired, be fastened round the wearer's neck. The lower part of the costume is made without the insertion of an intermediate piece in the fork, the shape being obtained by suitable reductions in the knitted fabric. For purposes of a better fit, the edges of the neck and leg opening may be formed of ribbed knitted fabric, and elastic threads may be incorporated in the knitting.
