Abstract

417,809. Pneumatic tyres. BUDD MANUFACTURING CO., E. G., 2500, Hunting Park Avenue, Philadelphia, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Budd, E. G. ; 157, Pelham Road, Germantown, Philadelphia, U.S.A.) July 12, 1933, No. 19757. Convention date, July 12, 1932. [Classes 144 (i) and 144 (ii).] A pneumatic tyre for use on railway vehicles is formed with a thick tread, reinforced by a wire winding 11<a>, of greater width than that of the rail-head 6 and thin flexible side walls 8, 9 which merge into the tread through buttresses 10. The tyre-base has an external attachment rib 4, and an internal rib 4<1> to limit collapse under load. The guide-flange 12 is normally spaced from the tyre, and is recessed at 13, to permit flexure of the tyre.
