Abstract

417,207. Filing papers. BECK, L., 47, Victoria Street, Westminster, and SIMONS, J. S., 1, Morland Road, Ilford, Essex. April 25, 1933, No. 12095. [Class 146 (i).] A device for securing a booklet or other folded sheet in a binder comprises a strip 1 adapted to lie within the folded sheet and having perforated tabs 2 thereon which pass through slits in the folded edge of the sheets so as to be threaded on binding members, a slit or slot being formed along the portion of the strip lying within the sheet for the reception of a further folded sheet. If the strip is made of flexible material such as paper or linen, a slit 5 is formed in the strip for the reception of the additional sheet and the inner margin 4 may be coated with adhesive for securing the strip to the main sheet. A slot 5 is provided instead of the slit when the strip is made of rigid material such as metal, and in this case the tabs 2 may be hinged thereto. Where the printed matter on the main sheet extends to the fold, the strip 1 is made of transparent tracing linen. In one form, the slot is formed by cutting away the material to a greater depth at a, b between the tabs 2 than it is on the ends of the strip, and in this case adhesive may be applied to the ends only of the strip. The slot 5 may be made long enough to take both the main and additional sheets.
