Feb. 20,1934, No. 5596. Convention date, Feb. 22, 1933. [Class 103 (iv).] In roofs for railway vehicles corrosion is prevented by the provision between the outer shell and an inner insulation lining of an air layer which is in communication with the outer atmosphere only and is left at the temperature of the outer atmosphere. The roof comprises an outer metallic cover a and an insulating layer b which may be of bright metal or metal foil, and a current of air passes through the space f entering at h and emerging at nozzles e in a ventilator d. The insulating layer is preferably non-hygroscopic and more permeable adjacent the air layer to prevent condensation.
