[Classes 83 (i) and 83 (iv).] Casting; soldering.-In a process for uniting ferrous bodies with bodies of aluminium or aluminium alloy, the aluminium or alloy is maintained in a reducing or neutral atmosphere in contact with the ferrous body at an elevated temperature to allow diffusion to take place. The aluminium rich surface is then joined to the aluminium body by casting or soldering.
