Abstract

413,612. Defleshing or stripping fibrous leaves &c. KRUPP GRUSONWERK AKT.-GES., F., Buokau, Magdeburg, Germany. March 14, 1934, No. 8063. Convention date, March 14, 1933. [Class 120 (i).] In defleshing parts of fibrous plants, e.g. the leaves of agaves or the like a device is provided at the delivery end of the machine for separating the bundles of long fibres from the bundles of short fibres. The separating device consists of a longitudinal wall or partition 14, Fig. 1, running approximately in the direction in which the material B, B is conveyed by the endless bands 6, 10 but inclined at an acute angle opening in the direction of the machine, Fig. 2. The partition is shaped so that the ends of the bundles of long fibres B are diverted to one side by the step 14<1> while the bundles of short fibres B<1> pass thereover. The partition may be adjustable in height while a transverse rod 15 is provided on which the collected bundles of fibres are laid by hand.
