Abstract
635,942. Broken ends, removing, in spinning &c. machines. THOMA, H. Sept. 30, 1947, No. 26355. Convention date, Oct. 17, 1940. [Class 120 (ii)] A device for collecting and removing broken ends in spinning &c. machines comprises a conduit 5, extending longitudinally of the machine, closed at one end and connected at its other end 7 with a source of suction, the conduit being of varying cross-section always increasing from the closed end towards the suction end whilst a series of suction heads 8 project at intervals from the conduit 5, each providing hollow portions extending parallel to the conduit, the heads 8 having spaced openings 9 into which broken ends are adapted individually to be drawn towards the suction source, and each head being of varying cross-section increasing in the direction of movement of the broken ends towards the suction source. The openings 9 preferably increase in size in a direction away from the suction source.
