Abstract

412,374. Spraying-apparatus. RIES, F., 45, Kaiserstrasse, Munich, Germany. April 18, 1933, No. 11403. Convention date, April 14, 1932. [Class 102 (ii).] Apparatus for spraying paint, perfume, disinfectant, liquids for inhaling, cleaning, preserving, &c. comprises a spherical container 1, Fig. 1, closed by cover 2. An elastic bladder 3 is secured in the container 1, its outwardly turned mouthpiece being tightly connected to an outwardly turned orifice in the bottom of the container. A pressure medium, e.g. water from the main, is admitted to the bladder under control of a three-way tap 6, thus forcing the liquid into the spray pistol 8. The cover 2 is provided with a spring-opened plate valve 25 which is closed by the bladder when all the liquid has been expelled from the container. The spray pistol has a hollow handle 8 provided with a strainer 9 and a non-return valve 28 to prevent loss of liquid when refilling the container. The liquid passes through a channel 11 into the spray-head 10. A valve 12 is normally held closed by a spring, but is opened by a push-button 14; a bow 23 on which the apparatus can be hung up, can be turned over to hold the push-button 14 depressed. The nozzle piece 17 is secured by a nut 18 and is provided with a number of channels 19 leading to grooves 20, Fig. 4a. Various arrangements of channels and grooves are described for producing the desired form of spray. The nozzle piece 17 is held by a plate 21 secured by a nut 22. In a modification, the spray liquid is placed in the bladder which is collapsed by admission of pressure medium into the container. In another construction, Fig. 3, the container 1<1> is cylindrical with hemispherical ends, and is provided with a bladder as before, and is connected to the spray pistol 8 by a hose 34. The container is suspended on a hook 31 or may have straps so as to be carried by the operator. In a further modification, Fig. 5, the apparatus is mounted on a spray tube 35 provided at its lower end with a hollow handle 38 and key valve 39. The pressure medium is supplied through a hose 40 controlled by valve 41. Alternatively the container 1 may be mounted below the handle 38, or may be connected to the spray rod by a hose.
