Abstract

In distilling high boiling-point products such as crude glycerine, fatty acids, Yorkshire grease, &c., under high vacuum by means of the apparatus described in the parent Specification, a relatively small proportion of steam (up to 30 per cent reckoned on the weight of the distillate obtained) is introduced at such a temperature that it does not heat the distillation mass, or is formed in the mass by vaporization of water therein. Specification 280,666, [Class 32], is referred to.
