Abstract

411,417. Valve amplifying circuits. AIGNER, F., Technische Hochschule, 4, Karlsplatz, Vienna. Aug. 29, 1932, No. 24109. Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Aug. 29, 1932]. [Class 40 (v).] Consists of a special method of reproducing recorded sound, whereby fidelity of reproduction as regards intensity differences may be attained. For this purpose, rectifiers are used in such a way as to effect a " dynamic modulation ", i.e. modulation of the degree of amplification effected by the reproducing system. As shown in the Figure a transformer T<1> applies alternating potential to the grids of two valves V<1>, V<4>, arranged in push-pull. A valve V<3>, serving as an amplifying rectifier, is connected as shown to the anode battery A, the control of the valve V<3> being effected through a transformer T<3>, the input of which is connected to the input side of the transformer T<1>. With this arrangement, using a valve V<3> with a suitable characteristic, the degree of amplification of the system is proportional to a power of the applied alternating potential. This modulation of the degree of amplification may be increased by the use of several amplifying stages. Any suitable known method of modulating high frequency oscillations may be used for carrying out the invention.
