Abstract
411,136. Cutting vegetables &c. ALLSOPP, J. C., 87, Gertrude Road, West Bridgford, Nottinghamshire. Dec. 1, 1932, No. 33984. [Class 5 (i).] A slicing machine comprises a housing or casing through an opening in the wall of which fruit or vegetables are fed in succession to knives carried by a rotary disc, a support C, for the article being cut, projecting from the wall of the housing, and a non-rotatable device A which is spring biassed downwardly to engage the article being cut to press such article firmly upon the support C and to resist movement of such article away from the knives. The device A, which also serves as a protection for the operator, comprises a presser plate A <1> secured by springs A<2> to a bridge member, a flange B on which engages in grooves in the housing, a screw B<2> being provided to secure the device in position. Specifications 4898/88, [Class 28], and 16115/10, [Class 28 (ii)], are referred to.
