[Class 126.] A shutter forming a firescreen and draughtregulator for fireplaces comprises a metal casing R adapted to be detachably fixed to a fireplace and having a removable canopy C, a spring-roller B mounted in the casing, a shutter A formed of horizontal metal slats with interlocking edges winding up on the roller, and metal uprights M adapted to be fixed to the fireplace jambs and having rabbets D in which the edges of the shutter slide. In the case of a new fireplace, the casing R may be let into the lintel instead of being secured to the front as shown.
