Abstract
409,976. Gas meters. COMPAGNIE POUR LA FABRICATION DES COMPTEURS ET MATERIEL D'USINES A GAZ, 12, Place des Etats-Unis, Montrouge, Seine, France. Sept. 4, 1933, Nos. 24502, 24503, and 24504. Convention dates, Sept. 7, 1932, Oct. 29, 1932, and Feb. 18, 1933. [Class 54.] In a wet gas meter of the type in which a drum 7, Fig. 3, revolves in a reservoir 9 containing liquid maintained at a constant level by means of a bucket wheel 1 dipping into a reserve well 8, the bucket wheel is driven by the engagement of pins, teeth, or apertures 4 at its periphery with an equal number of apertures, teeth, or pins 6 on the drum. The shaft on which the bucket-wheel is mounted may have its axis inclined or parallel to that of the meter drum. These axes if inclined need not intersect and either or neither axis may be horizontal. The bucket wheel may carry a finger or fork 14 driving through worm gearing 11, 12 the recording mechanism 10<a> which is arranged in or on a casing 11<a> forming on the front of the meter. Fig. 8 shows a modified construction in which a shaft 3 secured to the front wall of the liquid reservoir carries a bucket-wheel 1 formed at its rim with notches 24 engaging cogs 23 on an annular wall 22 rigid with the drum.
