409,786. Inserting pistons into cylinders. DILLON, S. W., and COLE, G. L., 8A, Hesper Mews, Bramham Gardens, Earl's Court, London. Nov. 15, 1932, No. 32302. [Class 122 (i).] In a device for inserting piston rings into cylinders of the kind comprising a strip of metal which may be folded to encircle a piston and its rings with means for drawing together the ends of the strip, the ends of the strip are retroverted to form hooks or sockets which are engaged by the ends of a bifurcated arm, a looped member slidable around the arm serving to draw together the ends of the strip. The flexible strip a has projections f and looped ends b, c into which the bent-up ends of a U-shaped arm h are inserted, thus enabling the strip to be drawn tightly around the rings and piston by moving the slider j. The projections f may be confined to the edge of the strip and a modified arm is described for inserting pistons at the top of the cylinder.
