Abstract

409,783. Gilled tubes for heat - exchangers. BABCOCK & WILCOX, Ltd., and DAVY, C. H., Babcock House, Farringdon Street, London. Nov. 14, 1932, No. 32208. [Class 64 (iii).] An economiser or like tube 1 is fitted with removable corrugated sleeves 2 in which the sleeve sections are bonded to the tube by a heat conducting bond 3 in the form of a cement adapted to harden under heat. The cement may contain graphite or carborundum bonded by substances such as water glass or glycerine with or without oils. The sleeves may slide into place and interengage by spigot and socket ends, and the sleeves may comprise semi-annular segments.
