Abstract

409,197. Engine and like cylinders. KNORR - BREMSE AKT. - GES., 9, Neue Bahnhofstrasse, Lichtenberg, Berlin. Sept. 15, 1933, Nos. 25645 and 25651. Convention dates, Feb. 17 and March 7. [Class 122 (i).] Cylinders, especially suitable for brakes, and which are constructed from steel by drawing or pressing, are secured to the vehicle or other structure by a flanged frame in which the cylinder can be freely fitted and removed without the necessity of removing the frame. A relatively small rim on the cylinder is adapted to be clamped between the grooved or recessed frame flange 2, Fig. 2, and the cylinder cover 4. Long supporting flanges 3, Fig. 1, by which the frame is attached to the vehicle, are made in one with the flange 2. The flanges 3 may extend over the cylinder to form a brake-lever carrier 5, Fig. 4, or may be bent to support the cylinder vertically. In modifications, carrying flanges are arranged at the ends of the cylinder, and may carry the brake-lever carrier. In the construction shown in Fig. 8, the base and. fixing flanges are formed at the same time by stamping or pressing and the flanges are bent over and attached by welding. In a further modification, a strip of iron shaped to form a brake-lever carrier and flanges, is welded to the base of the cylinder.
