[Class 44.] A band clip 20 for hose pipes and the like carries at one end 21 a tangential screw 26 co-operating with a member 28 which engages with one of a number of projections 24 on the other end 23 of the band and is slidable in a guide 27 on which the screw 26 is mounted. The head of the screw is part spherical to cooperate with a corresponding recess in a washer 31 and to permit a slight rocking movement to disengage the member 28 from the end 23 of the band when the member 28 is moved to the opening 30 of the guide 27. The screw 26 is retained in the lug 25 by a slotted member 33 engaging with a groove in the screw. The parts 28 and 23 may be pressed into engagement by a spring 29 or by spring tongues on the end 21 of the band. The guide 27 may be integral with or welded to the band. In a modification, Fig. 7, the sliding member 43 is freely mounted at thehead of the screw which engages with a nut 38 mounted in a bearing 37 on the guide 22. A lug 40 co-operates with a groove 39 to prevent rotation of the nut with the screw while permitting a slight rocking movement in the plane of the clip. The member 43 is retained on the screw by a slotted member 45 which serves also to engage with slots 44 in the band. The band may be held adjusted while the member 28 or 43 is moved to engage the band 23 at a fresh point, by a roller 49 sliding in a wedge-shaped casing 48.
