In a metal band clip of the type provided with two lugs 1 and 7 adapted to be drawn together by a nut 5 and screw 4, the nut-supporting lug 1 comprises a U-shaped fold in the band adapted to embrace or accommodate the nut 5 within the U. As shown, the U-shaped lug may be suitably shaped to hold the nut when the screw is withdrawn and the corners of both lugs may be raised to form buttresses 6, 8 to strengthen the lugs. Specification 741,251 is referred to.
