In a worm-drive band clip, in which the worm 2 is freely mounted in a housing 1 which is open at one end to receive the worm and is provided with an abutment 4 foi the leading end of the worm, the abutment 4 automatically fulcrums the worm 2 inwardly into engagement with the band 3 as the worm is tightened to contract the band. As. shown, the band is provided with a stop 6 which bears against the base of the housing. The housing and the band are not permanently fixed together.
