Abstract
408,751. Attaching knobs &c. to spindles. BRYAN, S. P., 45, Lea Road, Wolverhampton. Dec. 22, 1932, No. 36260. [Class 44.] A latch spindle is formed by a single flat bar j fixed to one knob g and adapted to engage between two parallel flat bars b fixed to the other knob a to hold them apart and thus to secure the knob a to a latch follower f, latch casing or rose plate ; the knob g is secured to the door by a rose plate h permanently mounted thereon. In one form, Fig. 2, one or both bars b are provided with a projection d which engages behind the latch follower &c. to retain the knob a ; the projection d may carry an axial adjusting screw. In another form, Fig. 3, the bars b are notched at k to co-operate with a washer l when they are held apart by the bar j. The bars b are preferably formed in one piece and serrations c are provided to secure the knob a which is moulded thereon. The end of the bar is preferably tapered to facilitate entry between the bars b.
