[Class 30.] A thread-cutter for reducing to a minimum the free strands of a weaver's knot, comprises a polished rod 1 over which the loop of the knot is placed, the loop being then tightened and pulled upwardly along the rod until it is severed by a blade 3 projecting from the side of the rod 1 and protected by a hood 4. The free strands are then pulled through the knot in the usual way. The rod 1 may, as shown, be carried by a thimble 2 or by a part of a loom.
