Abstract

408,610. Lawn - mowers. GIBBS, S. J., 101, Pixmore Way, Letchworth, Hertfordshire. Oct. 11, 1932, No. 28318. [Class 6 (ii).] A device in or for attachment to a lawn-mower, for cutting spreading weeds &c., comprises a spindle 1 carrying a series of cutting blades 2 arranged in parallel spaced relationship, the cutting edges being at rightangles to the spindle axis. The blades are preferably circular, and are spaced on the spindle by washers 3 and held in position by nuts 4 ; they may be free to rotate on the spindle or fixed thereto. The spindle, of round or square cross-section, is mounted in the brackets which normally support the wooden roller. A steel comb may be arranged to clean the spaces between the blades. According to the Provisional Specification, the spindle 1 may be geared to the ordinary cutting knives.
