Abstract

408,332. Maintaining defined speeds of motors. BAIRD, J. L., and BAIRD TELEVISION, Ltd., 133, Long Acre, London. Oct. 12, 1932, Nos. 28438, 31846, and 32824. [Class 38 (iii).] A rotary scanning device 2 for television is synchronised by means 20, 18 for continually rotating the stator of a driving motor 6. The motor shaft 4 also rotates the electromagnets 14, 16 of a phonic wheel, which are supplied with synchronising signals. When the receiver is out of phase, the toothed wheel 24 rotates and moves a brush 30 over a commutator 32 controlling a variable resistance 22 in the circuit of the reversible motor 20 which effects the correction. The movement of the brush is limited by stops and damped by a vane 34 in a dash pot 36.
