Abstract
332,924. Hedinger, F. H. April 30, 1929. Gramophones associated with kinematographs. - Synchronous control of motors driving a cinematograph projector and a gramophone is achieved by the governing motor T, Fig. 4, rotating a brush 30 over distributor segments 27, and the governed motor P, which tends to run slightly faster, rotating a brush 12 over segments 9. When synchronism is destroyed, relay S opens and inserts resistance in series with motor P to slow it down. At starting, motor T may be run slowly with a diverter resistance r, which is removed by a relay controlled by the two distributors as soon as phase coincidence is obtained, at which time relay S also closes and motor P starts. One of the distributors is shown in Fig. 1. The shaft 3 drives a gear train 15, 16, 17, and rotates the brush 12 over the segments 9 fixed to the stationary casing 5. The other part 4 of the casing, carrying the gear 16, is rotatable so as to adjust the phase relation between the distributors. The other distributor has its gears so arranged as to allow the interchange and thus the obtainment of different speed ratios of the. two motors.
