Abstract
406,769. Clips. SCHAFER, F., 2, Dufourstrasse, St. Gallen, Switzerland. Sept. 21, 1932, No. 26289. [Class 44.] A clip of bendable metal consists of a limb B, having an upstanding lug N, and a limb A which is pressed towards the limb B and deformed so that its end engages frictionally with the root of the lug N. When used to secure together a pair of stockings, the clip may have a card of mending wool secured to it. For securing together materials of large mesh, e.g. curtains, the ends of the arm A and of the lug N are bent outwards ; this form of clip may be used as a card index tab. When used as a paper fastener, the ends of the arm A and the lug N are pointed to pierce the paper. As applied to fastening paper bags and paper on bunches of flowers, the clip embraces the bag neck or the flower stems and the lug N is bent over as an additional security. The upper limb A may be of undulating form. The clip may also be used for the attachment of badges.
