Abstract
406,662. Toys. CARPMAEL, M. H., 24, Southampton Buildings, Chancery Lane, London.-(Marx & Co., Inc., L. ; 200, 5th Avenue, New York, U.S.A.) Aug. 29, 1932, No. 24117. [Class 132 (iii).] The device represents a figure propelling a three-wheeled vehicle comprising a two-wheeled power-driven chassis having pivoted to it a trailer frame, the figure being rockably mounted on the frame and the driving mechanism causing the swinging of the trailer about its pivot to steer the device in various directions. Clockwork 2 mounted on the chassis 1 drives a running wheel 4 through a crown-wheel 15 and pinion 16. The trailer frame 8 is pivoted at 7 to the chassis 1 and has an extension 12 provided with a cam 13 engaging a crank 14 secured to the crown-wheel 15, the trailer frame being thus rocked about its pivot 7 against the action of a spring 18. The crank 14 also actuates a spring-controlled lever 22 which strikes a bell 21. The figure 25 has movable arms and legs, the latter being pivoted to cranks 29 driven by a chain 31 from the trailing wheel 10. The figure is also pivoted about a horizontal L- shaped bar 33 and its arms are loosely mounted on a bar 28. The bar 33 is pivoted at 11' in the frame 8, whence, as the trailer frame swings about the pivot 7, the figure 25 rocks from side to side about the axis 33 and 11<1>.
