406,118. Cylinders. FAIREY AVIATION CO., Ltd., Cranford Lane, Hayes, Middlesex, and FORSYTH, A. G., Venlaw, Burdon Lane, Cheam, Surrey. Dec. 22, 1932, Nos. 36324, 36325, and 36327. [Class 7 (ii).] A cylinder block b is cast integral, not only with the upper half of the crank-case, but also with the induction passage d and its branches e, and one or more cooling water manifolds j, a very rigid structure being thus obtained. In the V engine shown the induction passage d is located between the inclined rows of cylinders, and the casting may also include a housing for the reduction gear. The water manifolds are connected to the circulating pump by passages k passing through supporting brackets m, and to the cylinder jackets by ports n, progressively increasing in size to ensure uniformity of distribution of the water.
