Abstract

405,075. Linings for sheet-metal cans &c. AKT.-GES. FUR PATENT - UND INDUSTRIEWERTE, Glarus, Switzerland. Oct. 12, 1932, No. 28429. Convention date, Oct. 12, 1931. [Classes 66 and 94 (i).] An air-tight tin is provided with an inside lining of corrugated cardboard having an inside flat overlayer. The tin comprises a body 1 with seamed bottom 3 and is provided with a bottom covering 6, and body covering 4. After filling the top covering 5 is placed on the product and the end 2 seamed on. In a modified form the top and bottom coverings extend over the full area of the tin and are spaced apart by the side covering. The contents may be enclosed in a paper bag, a paper disc being placed under the lid, and seamed over with it. The tin may be evacuated and filled with an inert gas, and the outer surface of the corrugated cardboard may be treated with a moisture or oxygen absorbing agent. Both sides of the corrugated cardboard may be faced, and the inside flat overlayer of the cardboard may be perforated. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 337,440, [Class 94 (i), Packing &c.].
