Abstract
405,074. Expanding tables. JONES, G. M. G., 43, Great Marlborough Street, London. Sept. 30, 1932, Nos. 27249 and 35862. [Class 52 (iii).] An end leaf 5, Fig. 5, of an expansible table is mounted on runners 6, for example on parallel links 10, so that in its out-ofuse position it rests on the ends of the runners beneath the centre leaf 1, while in its in-use position it rests on the shoulders 14 and abuts the edge of the centre leaf, in which position it is steadied by a spring 13. The runners 6 pass through slots in the end rails, which slots are fitted with flaps 20, Fig. 10, on spring hinges 21. These flaps rise and close the slots when the runners are pushed right in. The outer edge of the leaf 5 may be fitted with small blocks adapted to rest on the extremities of the runners 6. The parts 10, 13 are preferably fitted in recesses in the parts 5, 6.
