Abstract

404,093. Knitting-machines. MELLOR, BROMLEY, & CO., Ltd., and BACKHOUSE, H. R., St. Saviour's Road East, Leicester. Sept. 23, 1932, No. 26489. [Class 74 (ii).] The dial of a rib knitting-machine is driven by means which permit both circumferential and axial adjustment of the dial in relation to the cylinder. The motion of the needlecylinder &c. is transmitted to the dial 21 by spiral and worm gearing. One of the gears 3 or 12 is made in two parts such as 3, 3a capable of adjustment circumferentially by thrust screws &c. The dial driving spindle is movable axially by a handwheel 33 through the worm wheel 15 which drives it. After adjustment the dial is clamped by a tangential bolt device 30. The worm wheel 15 is adjustable relatively to its worm by an eccentric ring 40. The pinion 7 driving the vertical shaft 8 is also formed in two parts circumferentially adjustable for wear.
