Abstract
404,067. Oil engines. BRYCE, Ltd., Kelvin Works, Hackbridge, and SIDNEY, A. A., 36, Chip stead Avenue, Thornton Heath, both in Surrey. Aug. 16, 1932, No. 22918. [Class 7 (iii).] In a fuel injector in which a needle is raised from its seating by the fluid pressure of the fuel during the injection period, the needle 5 is normally maintained on its seat 4 by a stem 11 formed at its upper end as a disc 10 to which is hermetically secured one end of a transversely corrugated thin metal tube 9. The tube is disposed in axial alignment with the needle in a recess 6 in the body 1 of the injector and is hermetically secured at its upper end to a plug 12 screwed into the body and itself bored out centrally to receive an adjustable rod 14 which extends to near the disc 10 to limit the contraction of the tube 9. A metal cap 17 secured to a nut 16 screwed on the plug 12 closes the top of the injector.
