Abstract

403,857. Thermal switches. CARLSSON, J. E., and ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AKTIEBOLAGET, Võsteras, Sweden. May 1, 1933, No. 12619. [Class 38 (v).] In a thermal relay in which a bimetallic strip 1 forms a toggle with a spring 4, so as to move with a quick action from one position to another when its temperature changes, the strip 1 carries a member such as a roller 6 adapted to rest against a stop 7 during the movement of the toggle joint from the position shown to the dead-centre position. This makes the functioning of relay independent of shocks or vibrations. The movement of the strip 1, which may be heated by a resistance coil round it, operates a contact.
