Abstract
402,919. Box-spanners. DUIGAN, R. C., Cooraminta, Elliminyt, Victoria, Australia. Oct. 11, 1932, No. 28343. Convention date, Oct. 19, 1931. [Class 61 (iii).] A box-spanner comprises a tubular member A shaped at one end to engage a nut &c. or to receive a smaller box spanner, and provided at the other end with a series of spaced radial recesses D which may be selectively engaged by a tommy-bar E. The tommy-bar is cranked at one end and knobs H are provided to prevent disengagement from the spanner. The spanner is provided at its upper end with a seat F for the inner knob of the tommy-bar. According to a modification, the tommy bar is pivoted to a swivel pin M Fig. 6, mounted centrally in the upper end of the spanner so that on aligning the bar with the axis of the spanner the bar may be slid into the interior of the spanner.
