Abstract

399,204. Endless-belt conveyers. CADMAN, H. W., 62A, Wickham Road, Brockley, and SOVEX, Ltd., Bear Gardens, Southwark, both in London. March 30, 1932, Nos. 9172 and 32405. [Class 78 (i).] In a multi-band conveyer of the kind in which articles, such as telegrams, are conveyed from point to point while gripped between two bands, the bands are made of relatively thin flax material which has been subjected to a calendering process in order to minimize friction. Alternatively, or in addition, the bands may be subjected to a waterproofing process, preferably by treatment with a material having a paraffin wax base. The guide rollers over which the bands pass at the delivery point are formed with crowned portions k, l to impart to the conveyed object a wavy form in the direction of its conveyance which prevents adhesion to the bands.
