[Class 44.] A bung for closing the sampling or other hole of a tea chest, or any shaped hole drilled or otherwise formed in the shell, partition or body of any wooden chest or other storage receptacle, consists of a cylinder C closed at the bottom and with an out-turned flange at the top the walls having apertures D through which the extremities H of spring fastening strips E may project, the fastening device being centred, by lying in diametral grooves on the bottom of the bung. The bottom of the bung may be concave or convex or may be cupped at the middle. Indian Specification 8007 is referred to.
