Abstract
595,933. Powder distributers. PETERS, S. J. July 10, 1945, No. 17549. [Class 18] A container for condiments has two compartments having apertures controlled by a rotatable disc so that either or both of the compartments may be selectively opened. As shown a container has two compartments covered by a plate 5 with apertures 13, 14 giving access to each end by a superimposed flanged disc 8 that is rotatably secured to the container by the engagement of inwardly bent tabs 10 with a shoulder 11 on the container. Apertures 12, 15 are provided in the disc and may be brought into alignment with the apertures in the plate. Part rotation of the disc allows one compartment to be open and the other closed, further rotation opens the other compartment and closes the first and still further rotation opens both compartments. A spring clip 18 may be formed on the disc to engage notches 17 in the container indicating the condiment to be used. Alternatively a spring and ball housed in the wall of the container may engage the flange of the disc. A stopper 4 is provided in the base of each compartment, to permit the container to be filled, and the whole container may be fitted into a metal base 19.
