Abstract

398,296. Pneumatic tyres. ROSCOE, J., 95, Beechwood Road, and STEVENSON, P., 30, Sefton Road, both in Litherland, Lancashire. May 30, 1932, No. 15334. [Class 144 (i).] A device 10 for indicating tyre-deflation comprises a shoe 14, normally clear of the road surface, carried by a pair of spring-arms 15, 24 which are connected respectively to a fixed bracket 11 and an arm 23 hinged to the bracket. Pressure of the shoe 14 on the ground rocks the arm 23 to close the gap between contacts 29, 30 insulated from the parts 11, 23 and arranged in a signal lighting-circuit. In a modification (not shown) the signal may be operated pneumatically by utilizing the suction in the exhaust and replacing the switch 29, 30 by a suitable valve.
