May 4, 1932, No. 12890. Convention date, May 4, 1931. [Classes 97 (i) and 98 (ii).] In a method of making kinematograph composite pictures, in which a sensitive surface is exposed simultaneously to one or more components and to a previously recorded film, a duplicate of the previously recorded component is exhibited to the director to enable the components to be co-ordinated during the photographing. In applying the method to the making of composite pictures by photographing the action 4 illuminated by light of a particular colour before a plain background 6 illuminated by light of the complementary colour, a transparent image of the background component 3 being arranged before the sensitive surface 2 in the camera 1, a duplicate 11 of the component 3 is exhibited in the film inspection machine 10, the camera 1 and machine 10 being driven in synchronism, e.g. through a flexible connection 9.
