Abstract

397,696. Shearing metal bars; rolling-mill plant. SCHLEOMANN AKT.- GES., 13, Steinstrasse, D³sseldorf, Germany. Oct. 25, 1932, No. 29874. Convention date, Dec. 29, 1931. [Class 83 (iv).] Bars delivered from a rolling-mill along a roller track 6 are positioned by an adjustable end stop and cut to length between a fixed blade 2 and a cutter 3 which is reciprocated by a crank pin. The frame and driving mechanism of the shearing machine are inclined to the line of feed so that the cut-off bars may be discharged laterally without further longitudinal movement to clear projecting parts of the machine. The cut-off bars are discharged to side troughs 7, 8 by shifts 14 mounted on a shaft 13 which is rocked by a link 17 on the driving shaft 16.
