Abstract

1,187,892. Sawing. TARKETT A.B. 8 April, 1968 [11 April, 1967], No. 16757/68. Heading B5L. A frame sawing machine comprises a feed table 10, at least one saw blade 13 inserted in a frame 12, a feeding mechanism 44 for conveying material 11 along the table and into contact with the saw blade, and means 16 for constantly maintaining the material engaged with the feed table during sawing, the frame being so mounted that the blade is caused to effect reciprocating movements in its longitudinal direction and at the same time push pull transverse movements with its ends, each end moving in opposition to the other. The frame has inner and outer portions 12, 12<SP>1</SP> and at its upper end is connected by a link 18 to a crank 14 on a shaft 41. The lower end of the frame is connected to a crank 14 on a shaft 25, the shafts 25, 41 being driven in opposite directions by belt drives from a motor 25. The teeth of the blade are directed towards its centre and are without set. The blade may be straight or curved and the cross-section of the blade may be wedge shaped. The material to be sawn is guided by a vertical support 46 along which it is fed by the feed means 44, and a vertical disc 43 serves to discharge the sawn material.
