Abstract

397,671. Fusible cut-outs. CAELLI, E. C., 90, South Road, Brighton Beach, Victoria, Australia. Aug. 22, 1932, No. 23499. Convention date, Aug. 27, 1931. [Class 38 (i).] A multiple-element electric fuse comprises an insulating body 1 of cruciform shape formed from two complementary strips 2, 3, as in Fig. 7, with holes 7 to receive metal eyelets 8, fuse wires 11 soldered to these eyelets and to the fixed cap 10, and a spring clip which grips the eyelets and establishes connection with the fuse wire and the cap 9. The clip may be integral or united by soldering with the cap 9 and comprises limbs 14 and bosses 16 which spring towards each other and grip the eyelets. Upon fusion of one element, the spring clip is transferred to the adjacent arm to bring another element into the circuit.
