[Class 83 (iv).] Dies.-Longitudinal re-entrant portions are formed in tubing by passing it through a die, the perimeter of the aperture of which is less than that of the tube. A cylindrical tube 1 is pointed and passed through a die 4 having a flaring entrance 6 and a working portion 5 of hexagonal form, ribs 3 and re-entrant portions 2 being formed. Other forms may be produced by varying the shape and size of the die aperture.
