Abstract
397,240. Reflectors. PARKES, S. R., Pretoria Works, New Road, Willenhall, Staffordshire. April 9, 1932, No. 10190. [Class 97 (i).] A light-reflecting unit for signs, advertisements, or the like comprises a lens secured and partly enclosed in a metal casing which is formed with external resilient projections arranged to grip the inner periphery of a hole in a board or fixture to which it is desired to attach the unit. As shown, the unit consists of a lens c, Fig. 3, having silvered surfaces a, d and a container comprising a cup member, Fig. 4, and a sleeve, Fig. 5, which when assembled, Fig. 1, engage over portions 1, 2 of the lens respectively, a rubber or fibre washer being arranged between the cup member and sleeve. To secure the unit to a board, it is forced into a hole therein so that resilient projections m, n, pressed out from the sleeve, are forced inwardly until the unit is in the required position, the projections then tending to spring outwardly and grip the inner periphery of the hole. One or more recesses may be formed in the hole to receive the projections m, n. The surface p of the cup member may be reflecting, the lens c then being unsilvered.
