Abstract

433,710. Lenses. UNITED KING- DOM OPTICAL CO., Ltd., Mill Hill, and CULVER, E., 42, Coolhurst Road, Crouch End, both in London. Feb. 15, 1934, No. 5073. [Class 97 (i)] In the formation of coloured or tinted lenses, a lamina T of tinted or coloured glass, having substantially parallel surfaces, is secured by means of an intermediate layer of adhesive to a lamina W of clear glass having, or on to which is ground, the necessary curvature, the laminµ of clear and coloured glass being substantially of the same size and shape. The parallel surfaces of the tinted glass T may be flat as shown at 1 in Fig. 1 or curved as at 4 in Fig. 3. The necessary curvature may be ground on to the clear lamina W before or after it has been attached to the tinted lamina by an adhesive layer.
