Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Class 35.] The pressure-arm of a holder for a sliding brush is so mounted that the end pressing on the brush has a rectilinear motion in the direction of the brush-axis. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 1, the pressure arm 7 is secured to a plate 5 by a pin 6 working in a slot and carries a pin 9 which is pressed against the camshaped end of a spring-pressed pivoted arm 8 by a spring 10. Other arrangements are described in which cam-surfaces attached to the pressure arm roll on appropriately shaped fixed surfaces. Fig. 5 shows an arrangement in which the arm 7 has a circular surface rolling on a plane surface on the fixed piece 5 and a flexible strip 17 of conducting material, which also serves as a brush-lead is arranged between them.
