Abstract

1309152 Brushgear for dynamo-electric machines DUCELLIER ET CIE 30 Oct 1970 [5 Nov 1969] 51631/70 Heading H2A Brushgear for an electric machine comprises an arm carrying a brush and so guided under the action of a spring that the two ends of the arm move equidistantly in the same direction as the brush wears. The brushgear shown has two arms 2, 3 and a common spring 9. One end of each arm is provided with a cross-bar 16 sliding in a groove 17 in a support member 15 and abutting on one arm 10 of a lever, 4 or 5, pivotally mounted on the support member. The other arm of each lever engages the corresponding arm 2 or 3. This arrangement eliminates brush vibration and makes the point of contact between brush and commutator independent of brush wear.
