Abstract
686,689. Brush-holders for dynamo-electric machines. SOC. LE CARBONE-LORRAINE. March 7, 1960 [March 17, 1949], No. 5693/50. Class 35. In a brush-holder extending substantially to the commutator or slipring, the brush 3 is so mounted and loaded that it extends diagonally through the holder and retains this position irrespective of the direction of rotation of the machine. The direction of the angle formed by the brush in its guide can be altered by altering the point of application of the spring-leaf 6 on the metal flange 7 provided at the end of the brush. The flange 7 may be flat instead of sloping with an extension towards the holder 1 so that the spring-leaf 6 may act upon this extension. The direction of the resultant pressure passes between the pivot of the pressure arm 5 and the point of contact on the commutator.
